Short description of operation:
The operation aims to strengthen the Fire Brigade and its local services with new and technological advanced vehicles and accompanying equipment to address the increased demands in the field of civil protection, aiming at the maximum operational efficiency of the Fire Brigade by improving its readiness and response capability. In particular, these are vehicles and equipment that are suitable for interventions in both the prevention and suppression of forest and other fires, for interventions to deal with the consequences of earthquakes as well as for providing assistance and rescue work in events of natural, technological and other disasters throughout the territory of the country. Finally, it can be used to provide assistance to other countries, within the framework of the applicable intergovernmental agreements, as well as the obligations arising from Community and International Law.
